Most common printer issues

Printer problems are common and sometimes are unavoidable. Here are some information that you can use in case you encounter one. This does not cover any warranty processes or a patent agreement with the supplier but this is just some simple information for you to understand the issues and how you can fix it.

PAPER JAM – Paper jams are very common specially if you have been using the printer for too long and you have put in a lot of papers. The initial solution is to rip out the paper but this would make the problem even worse and might cause damage to the printer. It is still best to refer to the instructions manual on what to do. The most common cause of paper jam though is misaligned paper so you have to check the alignment properly when you load the paper. Ensure also that the paper is the correct type and has a good quality.

POOR PRINT QUALITY – When the printed output comes out with smudges and colors are faded, this could mean that there is a problem with the prints settings selected. To avoid this, you should check the media selected and that the paper in the tray is the correct type as well. You can also check the ink cartridge, this is also usually the case. You might have some damages in the ink cartridge or yoou might have ran out of ink so then it would be time to insert a new ink cartridge.

PRINTER IS NOT PRINTING – When nothing is printing, you should be able to do some troubleshooting first. You can check if your printer is set up and if your printer is connected to the correct network. Also, another possibiltiy is you are out of paper already so it you have to make sure you have enough paper. If the issue still persists, you can try restarting your printer.

PRINTING TAKES TOO LONG THRU WIFI – If this is the case, then it might be time to replace yur printer or your wifi or sometimes printer speed and performance are impacted by the amout of network traffic so you should try switching things up.

These are just some common issues that you may encounter with your printer at home or at the office. Usually, the printer comes with instruction manuals as it should, so before calling someone from IT, you can take time reading through it because sometimes it just needs a little restart or you just need to load some paper. So do not panick right away. If problems are repetitive, then you can consult with a professional to fix it or advise a new printer to purchase.
